Privacy Policy

Introduction
Daily Parable is published by Mircules. We take your privacy — and your child's privacy — seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Who Daily Parable is for
Daily Parable is intended for kids aged 10 and up, used with parental awareness. Account creation requires that the user — or the parent setting up the account — is old enough under their local law to enter into the App Store agreement (typically 13 or 16+). Younger children are expected to use the app on a device managed by a parent.
Data we collect
When an account is created we store, in our backend database (Supabase, hosted in the EU):
- An email address (for sign-in and password reset)
- An optional display name (used only inside the app to greet the user)
- An optional date of birth (used solely to choose between the age-appropriate and teen-appropriate illustration variant)
- A theme preference and language preference
- Reading progress: which stories have been unlocked and which the user starred as favourites
- Subscription status (managed via RevenueCat)
Guests can use the app for the 3-day trial with no account at all — only an anonymous local ID is generated, stored on the device.
What we do not collect
No real names, no addresses, no phone numbers, no contacts, no photos, no precise location, no microphone, no camera, no behavioural profiling. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any advertising/attribution SDK. The app contains no advertising, ever.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
Daily Parable does not knowingly request or store personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental involvement. The minimum data required to use the app (email, optional birth year, optional name) is intentionally limited so that an account set up by a parent on a child's behalf carries the lightest possible footprint. If you believe an account belongs to a child under 13 and was created without parental consent, contact us through the contact page and we will delete it.
AI-generated content
The kid-friendly retellings, daily affirmations, and illustrations are generated ahead of time using Anthropic's Claude (text) and Black Forest Labs' Flux 1.1 Pro via Replicate (images), and reviewed before being published into the app. Your child's reading is never sent to those services. The AI services do not see any of your data.
Storage and sync
Stories, illustrations, and affirmations are pre-generated content delivered from Supabase. They are cached on the device for offline reading. Account data and progress live in Supabase, encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and the purchase receipt from Apple — no name, no email beyond the optional one already on the account.
Analytics & tracking
We do not use any analytics services. No Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics. We do not track you across apps or websites. App Tracking Transparency is not requested because there is nothing to track.
Crash reporting
We rely on Apple's built-in crash reporting via Xcode Organizer, which is anonymous. No third-party crash-reporting SDKs are included.
Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
You can delete your account permanently from inside the app — Settings → Delete Account. That removes your profile, subscription record, and reading progress from our backend. You can also email us via the contact page to request export, correction, or deletion of any data we hold. We do not sell or share personal information.
Third-party services
The third-party services that Daily Parable depends on are:
- Supabase — backend database and authentication. supabase.com/privacy
- Apple App Store — distribution and payments. apple.com/legal/privacy
- RevenueCat — subscription management. revenuecat.com/privacy
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the "Last updated" date and surface a notice in the app. We don't expect frequent changes — privacy minimalism is part of what Daily Parable is.
